The big philosophy

Everything should be obvious and match your habits and expectations. When you wash your hands, what do you expect? You mentally expect to have a towel just near the sink to dry your hands. What if you don’t find it? You will be certainly annoyed and feel uncomfortable with your wet hands. Therefore, you shall always put a towel (or similar) next to your sink. If you had a towel, you would dry your hands and walk away without any additional thinking. So, to summarize, no towel, you will feel annoyed, with towel, you will dry your hands and move to the next occupation.

Similarly, suppose you just came home, and you need to put your coat. You don’t have a special place to put it, so you will simply put it in the saloon. Two, three days later it is still there, and in the meantime, you already wore another two coats and put them in the saloon. Now you have a set of clothes in the saloon which have nothing to do there. Similar things with all your other stuff; bag, boots, sockets, … Well, now you need to clean your saloon. Zuut.

Imagine you have installed in the entrance a coat rack. When you enter home, the most obvious thing is to take off your coat and put it in the coat rack. You will do it without thinking because it is in front of you at the entrance looking at you with a smile and offering its service. You are lazy person, you accept that. The saloon is free!! It does not have this additional item which has nothing to do there. When you clean it, you have one less thing to do. You saved one minute of your time.

I hope you get it by now. You need to organize your home in a way that prevents any thing from annoying you including spending two additional hours cleaning it.

You will need to purchase some specific items, put your furniture in the right place and create a consistent behaviour. Only then, you will enjoy your home better and feel confortable.

Now, if this is what you want, then welcome to continue reading. Otherwise, you can stop here.
